CAN'T FIND WHAT YOU NEED?

Every External App must be reviewed and approved before being added to Canvas. During the review process, the app is evaluated for the type of content that is shared between the tool and Canvas. The tool is evaluated for compliance with ITS policies related to information security, FERPA compliance, accessibility compliance, cost, and legal responsibility.

If you would like to request an external tool, submit a Canvas External Tool (LTI) Request via WebHelpDesk ticketing system or email at cdm@jcu.edu.

The Attendance (Roll Call) tool is an external app (LTI) used for taking attendance in Canvas courses. The Attendance tool can be used for online or face-to-face courses. Enabled at the account level, the Roll Call Attendance tool can be used by all courses in the Canvas account.

Cengage Learning’s MindLinks provide seamless, powerful integration with your institution’s Learning Management System, enabling instructors to add MindTap content to their courses, eliminating multiple logins for students and sending grades from MindTap assignments back to the LMS grade book.

Aktiv Chemistry reimagines chemistry courses with an approach that fosters student engagement both during and after class – in-person or online.

FlatWorld Homework is approved for use within the Digital Learning Environment (DLE). This product requires a purchase of a supported textbook by students in a course, or prior university agreement.

The Google Apps LTI makes it easier for instructors to include collaborations, content sharing, engaging course content, and assignment distribution directly within Canvas.

LockDown Browser® is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within a learning management system. LockDown Browser is the “gold standard” for securing online exams in classrooms or proctored environments.

Macmillan Learning offers deep content integration between its LaunchPad products and Canvas. This robust integration creates direct links from a Canvas course into the Macmillan LaunchPad environment.

McGraw-Hill Campus Connect (MH Campus Connect) is an external tool that can be added to any Canvas course by the instructor. Instructors can pair a Canvas course with a McGraw-Hill textbook so they and their students can use McGraw-Hill's interactive instructional materials. Grades earned in MH Campus quizzes and assignments can be synced with the Canvas Gradebook.

This integration provides the ability for the instructor and students to link from a Canvas course to access their Pearson MyLab and Mastering experience.

NBC Learn believes in the power of great stories historic news reports, original video content, and current events coverage to engage, inspire, and educate students. NBC LEARN is a repository of short, 2-5 minute NBC News videos that can be incorporated into classroom lectures and online teaching materials.

New Analytics allows instructors to track average course grades for student submissions using an interactive chart graph or table.

Revel delivers an engaging blend of author content, media, and assessment that lets students read and practice in one continuous experience.

Portfolium is an LTI tool which allows Canvas users to create and share ePortfolios. Users can create any number of projects within their portfolio and import their Canvas assignment submissions directly to their ePortfolio.

New Quizzes is a quiz engine that integrates with Canvas as an LTI tool and replaces the classic quizzes functionality currently existing in Canvas.

SCORM is a technical standard for many e-learning products and is often used to create course content. Once enabled, the SCORM Link will appear in the Course Navigation menu. SCORM packages are imported as External Tool Assignment submissions.

Canvas Studio is a media tool that allows students and instructors to upload, create, edit, manage, share and discuss audio and video files. Existing files can be used or new ones can be created with Studio's capture and editing tools.

The Canvas Plagiarism Framework (CPF) is an easy to use method of obtaining Turnitin Similarity & Originality Reports for submitted assignments in Canvas.  Turnitin features are configured via Canvas assignment settings and accessible from within Feedback Studio.

Zoom LTI app integrates Zoom Video Conferencing into Canvas. Instructors can use the Zoom LTI to schedule and start Zoom meetings to support distance learning, office hours, study groups and lecture capture, access their cloud recordings.
