We offer a variety of service opportunities specifically arranged for students interested in medical care and/or health and wellness fields.

Year-long service opportunities require a weekly commitment. Transportation is provided for some of these activities. CSSA will track your hours and a transcript is available. Registration for these opportunities is only available during the first two weeks of the fall semester, but students can request to be put on a waiting list for future years. To learn more about the registration process, email JP Graulty at jgraulty@jcu.edu.

  • University Hospitals | Participants in this activity volunteer in a variety of different sections of University Hospitals to provide comfort and companionship to patients, at locations including Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, Seidman Cancer Center, and University Hospitals Main Campus. This requires a six-month commitment, spanning across two semesters in an academic year.

One-time service opportunities are arranged by CSSA and listed on our “One-Time Opportunities” website. Transportation is usually provided depending on the numbers who register. New opportunities are posted regularly. CSSA will track your hours and a transcript is available. Registration typically opens during the third week of classes and continues on a rolling basis. Visit our to register online for these activities. Check the site often for new opportunities, and check CSSA’s weekly e-newsletter, too.
