, less formally known as , is an independent, nonprofit organization serving hundreds of universities in the and other countries. The Washington Center provides selected college students challenging opportunities to work and learn in for academic credit. The largest program of its kind, The Washington Center has over 50,000 alumni, many of who are in leadership positions in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

The Washington Center offers programs in which students are placed in leading organizations and government agencies such as USA Today, the Peace Corps, and the Department of Defense. Students are provided a place to live and attend The Washington Center’s programming activities such as Career Boot Camp and the Simpson-Mineta Leaders Series. Over 75% of students receive some form of financial assistance beyond their usual campus-based aid.

Internships run Monday through Thursday, and Fridays are for group meetings, facilitated discussions, and reflection.

  • Room: $3520 (Includes a $2300 credit from the State of Ohio to defer the cost of housing.)
  • Administrative Fee: $1000

  • Transportation: $600

Summer Programs: students will be billed directly by TWC for all costs. Administrative fee is not charged. $4000 credit for Ohio students is available.

Financial Aid: No ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ financial aid may be used on this program. Students are eligible to use state and federal financial aid. No tuition benefits may be used on this program, however the $1000 administrative fee will not be charged for students eligible for tuition benefits.

Additional scholarships for internships at non-profit organizations, for ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ students to attend the Washington Center, are available through the Center for Service and Social Action. Please contact Elizabeth Deegan for more information.

Transfer credit from the Washington Center will count towards GPA.
